Superb Combi Greenline II remap and other questions...

Featured Replies

Hi,

Looking to return to the Skoda fold and need something relatively low cost and practical, but it does need to be a reasonable motorway car, not just in terms of road noise etc.

I've tried searching this forum, with mixed results! to find what I'm looking for, but felt it was easier to post a new thread.

So, the 1.6 CR tdi, how is it for high mileage reliability?

... I'm on a budget (Divorce!) so I'm considering looking at a 2012 Greenline II S Combi with 63k on it. Looks very clean from the photo's, but it's a couple of hours away, so haven't seen or driven it yet.

I realise this is no sports car, but is it capable enough? big car vs small engine etc??

Also, has anyone got any real world experience of the difference something like a Shark remap makes on this vehicle? I've had all sorts remapped in the past with great results, but never a heavy car with small engine.... If anyone can provide real world feedback on this I'd be very grateful !!

Thanks for any constructive responses :-)

Cannot comment on Greenline 2, but I run a Greenline 3 combi, I came from an Octavia VRS, so granted not as quick, but my regular daily commute is a mix of A31, A3 dual carriage way running at 70mph (if you are lucky!!) it'll keep up with the flow no problem, just takes it's time to get up to speed. Once you adjust your driving style to the gearing and the power not a problem. I've done a couple of longer motorway/a road runs and it ticks along nicely. The key here is the economy, regularly seeing 60+ MPG, boot it hard and the economy suffers, efficient competent cruiser yes with adequate power yes, sports performance no.
