Break pad warning light

Featured Replies

Hi

I've just had pop up and stay on a orange disc/pad warning light. Usually how many miles will I have left on the pads?

Looks like loads left on the pads.... I take it this shows only front pad level?

Thanks

Dave

I've done over 500 miles with the light on with no issues, but obviously there is no set in stone answer and you should be looking at getting them changed.

Could be that the inner pad is worn more and it's hard to see without taking the wheel off.

Yeah maybe....

Not mot failure?

May well be as you have a warning light on.

Really?...

Looks like have few thousand worth of pad left....

Googled it and they will check the condition of pads and have it as an advisory...

Looks like it would be a fail for a brake fluid warning light (i.e. red one) but not the orange pad warning light.

I've had it before that the inner pad was way more worn than the outer.

I'll see Mot in a week at friends garage...

Cheers

Sometime they'll come on in error.

Mine flashed up and the pads probably had another 20k in them. Went off itself a day later.

No error code for the pads it's just off or on.
