Rear window regulator clip replacement

Featured Replies

Hiya,

My rear near side window stuck and dropped down other day.

I took off the door card best I could and managed to get the window to sit back in the clip.

From what I can see, the rear doors have one of these white clips?

But when I tried to order these from the local dealer, he ordered me a pin type clip, and said the clips aren't available!

Anyway I have drilled most of the rivets out apart from the two connected to the regulator as I thought better of it.

I'm gonna get a garage to do this as I have no rivet gun or bolts to re secure the inner for skin.

Just wondering if anyone had already done this and replaced their clips or rear window regulator so I know for sure I do need a new clip like in the 1st link above?

Cheers

Appears that the 1st link which shows the clip is for MK1 Octy's, although on website it says up to 2009, but apparantly other markets run MK1 Octy's up to this date and a lot of imported MK1's with up to 59 plates get run as Taxi's?!

Anyway, I was told I would need to buy the new regulator as a whole, quite frustrating really as it works perfectly, apart from holding the glass in. New regulator is £80!

So my plan is now to remove the inner door card skin, so I can get a better look and see if it can be repaired.

I have posed a question on another thread about what rivets/rivet gun to use!

Anyone that has already done this sort of job on their Octy or in the know with this sort of thing, advice would be much appreciated :)
