Brakes holding on

Featured Replies

Hi chaps, not had my octavia 2005 2.0 tdi dsg long and i seem to be on here asking questions all the time lol but if you don't ask you will never know. I have notesed when driving when I take my foot off the excelerator when coming up to a junction it feels as if the brakes are on a little slowing me down without touching my brake but the car doesn't feel like it is getting held back and I carnt hear the brakes grabbing ? Anyone advise cheers kev.

Could be a seized rear caliper, there knowing to do that.

Watch the  display (D6, D5, D4, etc in the centre of the instrument binnacle) and you will see that the DSG changes down through the gears as you slow.

ARrrrrrrr! So the dropping of gears is helping the car to brake as I am comming to a stop ? Cheers kev.

If you still think a caliper is seized check and see if the alloy is red hot and lots of brake dust. That's what I had when my rear was seized
