Help _ standard 6 disc changer

Featured Replies

I have the standard tape deck unit and a 6 CD changer in the boot. I'm wondering if there is a technique to changing the discs.

Most of the time the magazine doesn't eject, when it does I can't get the head unit to pick it up again. I get magazine chk and mechanic errors. So just wondering if there is a certain technique to it? Like do I need ignition off, or ignition on and head unit off. I don't have a handbook for it to check.

Mine "just works".

So lets do some of the usual checks, starting with is there any damp in that well? If so, then there's a connector in the rear washer pipework directly under the stacker that often leaks, and the stacker needs to come out to check the joint.

No leaks there, my rear washer when used just spits water out at the tank. (which reminds me I need to look at that.)

Looks like maybe I wasn't being patient enough, I just went out ejected the magazine turned on ignition to CHK MAGAZINE message popped into the house and when I came back out the CD was playing, tried switching CD (I had a case of 1st CD was playing but other 5 wouldn't) and all of them worked fine. Typical.
