New TDF Superb but now a dilemma.

Featured Replies

We went car shopping a few weeks ago to replace my partners 07 VW Golf. We were looking at a Rapid spaceback Blackline in White, however we came away with a Tour de France Superb instead as we fell in love with it and the price. Part of the deal with my other half was that I would get rid of my Octavia next year but looking around I really can't replace it for the money with anything that comes close. Damn Skoda with their special editions and good deals. I hope she doesn't make me get rid of it.

I'm looking for something similar in price and as fun to replace the VRS, any ideas?

I was a Ford man through and through but I'm all Skoda'd out now.

Eh!?

2007 VW Golf to a Rapid Spaceback, I get that. Makes perfect sense.

Rapid Spaceback to a Superb!? Now you've lost me.

Not just a Superb, but an estate.

Not just an estate but a 4x4 estate.

Not just a 4x4 estate but the Outdoor.

Not just the Outdoor but the Tour de France!

Weren't there any of the models inbetween on display in the showroom, like an Octavia Scout, or perhaps a Yeti?

I get the attraction for the Superb, especially the Outdoor, it is a fantastic car but I am curious, what exactly was it about the Outdoor that meant the requirement for a small, compact, fuel efficient, easy to park and low cost car went out the window!?

Great choice by the way :D

Well as I said part of the tactic was that the Octavia got replaced with something smaller instead. We always wanted a 4x4 as a few years ago we were having to use snow socks on a regular basis to get into work. (We need to get into work even if the weather is aweful).

The deals that they are doing on pre registered tour de France's are hard not to turn down when it's less than 4k more than a Rapid 1.2 for that much more car!
