Climatronic Settings

Featured Replies

Hi guys only had the car a week so still finding my way around it.

Where is a good starting point for the climatronic settings now winter is almost here.

Got auto switched on and both dials are on 22. Should the air con light be on through the winter and should the duel light be left on? Engine was hot yesterday but car wasn't that warm so guessing I havn't got it set up right.

Also heard mention of using an econ button but cant find that on my car (2011 elegance)

i use auto all year round (AC) as it keeps the pipes in good condition and clears your screen better. Have used econ mond once or twice, but that just bins off the AC and having had a car fail because I didn't use it, I always leave it on.

The econ button should be under the auto button although you car is younger than mine. I have mine up at 24 when I first get in to warm it quicker and then drop it to 21-22 for the rest of the journey.

Mine looks like this

On a 2011 car there is no Eco button.  The button labelled AC is an on/off control (which is more truthfully than ECO).  You could read the car's manual to find out more! :)

In the winter season you really don't need the AC on, but since it dryes up the incoming air it can be wise to have it on until interior is warmed up a little (it helps demisting).

For most of the time Auto setting and 21-23 degrees is quite all right. If you need to defrost or demist the frontscreen, a manual setting is better. There is a button that is marked with windscreen and "MAX". This will set all air towards the windscreen and fan to high speed all by pressing one button. If you wish to warm up the car fast turn the temp selector to RED. Then all incoming air will be directed through the heating system (you are still dependent of a hot engine to get hot air thou).

The dual switch gives you the possiblilty to have different temperatures on left and right side of the car. In my opinion, it doesn't work well. So just leave it off.

I will also promote the car manual. Greetings from cold and wet Norway.

Still waiting for the manual to arrive in the post. It was missing and the dealer has ordered one from Skoda. Thanks for the replies they are helpful.
