Automatic transmission issue

Hi All,

I am new here. I recently took used 2006 model Octavia 1.9 TDI AT. It has issue with gear box. Some times gear shift goes smooth and normal. some times 3rd-4th gear shifts only after reaching 50kmph and 4th-5th after 70kmph. At this time, engine RPM touches 3k-3.5k. I reached one local mechanic here. He opened gear box and shown some part has gone and it will costs me 60-70K. He is not giving guarantee that the problem will fix with this replacement. He said "he hope so".

Please let me know what will be the issue and how much cost involved to repair this issue (in Rupees). I am from Bangalore. If anyone know good mechanic in Bangalore 20km around Marathalli will be fine,
