Blocked DPF causing stalling with no warning lights CR170

Featured Replies

Car loses all power limps couple hundred yards, glow plug light on, turn off then on again, glow plug light now off. Drives hundred yards very low power then stalls. Car will then only start for a few seconds.

Garage diagnosed completely blocked DPF. I'm wondering why no DPF warning lights. Is this likely caused by failed sensors preventing regent and not triggering warning light? Any other likely causes?

UPDATE: dpf delete at Shark and all tickety-boo

The glow plug light will log a fault code.

If it is in fact a blocked DPF then something is seriously amiss somewhere.

You will get the DPF light first, then if nothing is done to regen the DPF you then get the EML and flashing glow plug lights plus limp-home mode.

Even at this point it is possible to do a forced regen to clear it.

Something has gone very wrong somewhere. How many miles has the DPF done?

About 120k. I've had DPF warning light a couple of times a fair while back and motorway drive has cleared it. I did do a ash / soot check with vcds back then and was OK (not got figures to hand).

Just checked a VCDS log I did while waiting for the recovery truck.  Stupidly didnt check the log at the time and trusted the garage that no error codes.  Found I've got an error log:

Also checked my DPF levels from old scans:

Probably done 7k of mixed driving since without a dpf warning light though have noticed a regen or 2 (including quite recently)
