Got Remap Booked For tuesday

Featured Replies

After ages away from the forum and with a little money burning a hole in wallet, I've booked my Vrs into JKM in Portsmouth for a Revo tune on my stocker. I'm upgrading the panel filter. Will let you know how I get on.

Can't wait!

Good times, you'll love it

Good times indeed. Car is a monster! It picks up speed so fast, nearly as if not on par with my now sadly departed WRX wagon. Sound from the filter is pretty sweet too. All of you peeps were correct about a remap. It's awesome! Now it's time to change the diverter to cope with the increased boost levels and other small jobs. Thanks.

The diverter doesnt need changing usually if its the stock 710N one (plastic)

As liverpool-lad said, the stock one is more than capable. Unless its knackered then dont waste your money :)

If it ain't broke n all that. I just plan to upgrade certain things if they go, many parts OEM is all good for stage 1. I put a Forge DV in but that was more about chasing a problem/crossing things off the list. May not have needed it but I have peace of mind now but don't worry until you have a problem. I'd probably recommend checking your plug gaps and/or upgrading those (should be 0.7mm).

Anyway, glad you're enjoying the map, mine still makes me smile months later.

These forge valves actually cause maintenance issues as they are servicable and use O rings, not diaphraghms.

Nice one chaps. You've saved me some pennies. I'm going to do the plugs in the next few days if the weather is fair and do the plug gaps. I read that on a different thread and is on my list of post remap fettling. The list looks like this:-

- Fresh spark plugs correctly gapped

- Fresh Thermostat

- Fresh Coolant temp sensor

Thanks again.

I use these plugs

There a stage cooler than standard and gapped at 0.7mm. Dont worry that it says for the K-series rover engines they work great.

Only downside is they last only 7k [emoji52] but cheap enough to replace at every oil change

They do?  Ive had those in for about 4 years now :)

I had 'Deja-Vu' when I read this....I had exactly the same things done as you :D

I also had a Revo remap done at JKM, with a panel filter fitted at the same time - about 4 years ago now. I couldn't believe the difference either, woohoo!

I had a Forge re-circ DV fitted too...really just for the integrity and reliability that the unit brings.....oh ok then, it was shiny :D

4 years and 70,000 miles on, the car is still as great as ever at 150k. With regard to the poser above discussing the Forge DV - all I've done in 4 years was to pop it out about 18 months ago for an inspection. I dismantled it, and the O-rings were all in good condition still, it was just a bit dirty and the grease had seen better days. So I just cleaned it all up and rebulit it with new grease....happy days since then.

OP - you need to do the 'pikey inner wheel-arch mod' now as well. It's definitely helped mine, for hardly any outlay and about 2 hours work...

For real [emoji52][emoji31]

Since when did spark plugs last 7k?

Since when did spark plugs last 7k?

Its what i read on here because of what there made of apparently

Standard copper IIRC.  Engine running as fine as ever!
