Faulty bulb holder ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Anyone seen this happen before. The rear connector of P21W 12V bulb has deformed in shape after several months in 2012 Octavia such that the dashboard bulb failure sensor thinks there is a faulty bulb somewhere. Its intermittent, i.e. faulty bulb indicator lit up one day,  then OK another day,  then faulty and so on.  Looks to me like the solder on the back of the bulb has melted and moved to a sharp point - see photo

Perhaps the bulb holder is faulty, poor connection with back of bulb, getting hot ( its a front DLR bulb)

This is the second bulb this has happened to in front nearside DLR holder

Any thoughts much appreciated

Thanks
