A few questions about your Amundsen unit :

 

Is there a difference between the Amundsen and Amundsen + ?

Is it possible for the Amundsen to show outside temp like the Swing radio does?

The Amundsen+ has a built in hard drive and the maps are stored on this rather than an SD card like on an Amundsen.

Not sure it can show the outside temp but having said that, I've never tried !

You can use the touchscreen to make calls and doing so means it shows the person you're calling, your contact list and call history on the screen, I don't have the Maxidot set to show phone calls but it does show up on there as well.

In regards to the temperature I ventured the setting in great detail and neve found an option to display the temperature. The same with Colombus though. Absolutely cracking units. Would recommend.

Not too sure, I'd have to try it when I go to work in the morning.

I'm sure the temp stays, in fact I'm 99% on it. The temp is in between the two lines and the directions are above.

New problem with Sat Nav.The red ring with the arrow in it that shows the location of the car, randomly jumps ahead on the road about 1/4 or 1/3 mile. If you have a location set this brings instructions to early and causes a lot of confusion for the unit. It also randomly goes straight on when you get to a bend and shows that you are in the middle of a field, river or on a completely different road , it will then suddenly jump back to the correct location. I have only had it for a week and a half and the first ten days it was working fine. It came with a new GPS Antenna which I fitted, is this likely to be a culprit ?

It possibly could be the new antenna you've fitted, it sounds like it's not picking the signal up correctly or not locking on to the satellite.

I'm guessing it's a retrofit ?

Mines factory and doesn't do any jumping of directions!

If you don't want directions to show on the maxidot then press and hold the button on end of wiper stalk and it will revert it back to MFD display whike still showing directions on nav screen

Perhaps the maps on your system are outdated, I remember mine did exactly the same on a stretch of relatively new dual carriageway on a trip to Skegness - telling me to take a roundabout that wasn't there and then ignoring one that was. Also jumping on and off random fields on the map view.

The unit is from may 2012 , the antenna is new but for some reason is not up to the job
