clutch sprung up.

Featured Replies

Wonder if anyone could help,my clutch pedal snapped about 3 months ago and had it welded and was as good as new but today I pressed the clutch and as I released the clutch pedal sprung up about an inch to 2 above the correct level the car still drives perfect just a raised springy clutch.any advice is appreciated.

Hi ,

Have you checked the cable itself for any sign of wear etc

It could of just made itself loose at either end ..

Hope this helps [emoji2]

Something just clicked like plastic snapping but no sign of any break.i had new cylinder at back of clutch pedal.im not mechanically minded so not sure haha

Hmm interesting...

I would just look at the pedal end of the clutch cable and see if there is any parts missing [emoji57]

If one of your mates has a mk4 golf , bora or Passat have a look at there setup behind the pedal , you could be missing something

There is no cable the clutch is hydraulic. IIRC there is a plastic part up where the pedal hinges that commonly breaks causing what you've described.

I've had a look in the dark haha but Yeh where my pedal was welded looks like a white clip is looking a bit worse for wear.cheers for that pauldazzle and peterbrady

Mine white clip partially broke after I had the clutch welded and clutch was higher. So I just replaced the white clip and it's been fine since.
