Which engine you got mate?

1.9 tdi

Feel for you mate that's just bad luck by the sound of it!

How old is the car as 104k is not big mileage. Any explanation from the garage as to why they think it happened?

Is it worth it Skip, would you be better off getting an oil additive sealer instead, think how much longer you plan on keeping it before you splash out,

Now I know where my oil was going on the Passat, same trait at service time, oil stain down the rear of the engine all over the sump, I always thought it was the sump nut not sealing causing it and the air had blown the oil about, oh well long gone now and good ridence tbh.
