The Trades Parts Specialist (TPS)

Featured Replies

I'm looking to service my Superb, or at least cover the basics, 5 litres of VW 507, an oil filter, sump plug, air filter and pollen filter (I don't have VCDS to purge the fuel system of air so the fuel filter will be left as is for now!).

I prefer to use OEM where possible but am happy to use well respected parts if they are proven to be the same as OEM (MANN filters etc.) and are therefore cheaper.

As an example looking online a number of Skoda retailers stock the air filter and sump plug for £11 delivered or thereabouts...

TPS are rumored to be very well priced, better than the main dealers, especially the online / Joe Public / non-trade prices shown above.

However TPS do not deal with retail customers, or at least this is what they say on their website. Are all you guys who are shopping with TPS in the trade or am I missing a trick!?

Any other hints and tips on getting the parts as cheaply as possibly if TPS proves a non-option?

You're missing a trick ;)

I call up, order the parts and say 'it's a private job'.

There's a thread on here showing which braches of TPS will serve you; I'll have a look for it and link you up :)

Not a very big list, I'm afraid.

For OE brakes, Pagid are OE IIRC. Maybe from CarParts4Less?

Not sure who makes the filters for VW but I think MAN are VW owned.

Brilliant thanks Lee, wouldn't have thought to look in there!

Lee i think you mean "Mann" not Man as in the trucks.
