What is this noise?

Featured Replies

Evening all

I have a squeak.  Looking from the front of the car it appears to be coming from the back L/H corner behind the engine.  It is much louder when cold but becomes quieter once the engine has run for a few minuites.  I was told it may be the vacume pump.  Any thoughts?  I had the auxilary belt & a knackered pulley replaced last week as iI thought it was this causing the noise.

Thanks.

Morning

Just checking that the viseo can be viewed ok.  Had to keep it short so as to stay under 2Mb.  I'll re-post it if it is not playing.

Thanks

Hello

I'm still trying to find out what this noise is. I am not being allowed to upload even a 4 second iPad video of the engine noise. Is there anyone out there that I can email the video to?

YouTube video would probably be the best bet i should think. :-)

Evening

Just found this.  The exact same noise as mine.  Any ideas?

Probably auxiliary belt not tightened properly/enough. Did you try refitting it? Or may be try the other one from other manufacturer? I am experiencing similar issue but I am too lazy to replace it ;)

Cheers

Thanks Arminator

The auxiliary belt & pulley have been changed. They are locacated near the front as far as I know. The squeak seems to be coming from the back L/H corner. It does go once the engine is warm.
