Why isn't there a Skoda magazine ?

I see plenty of Golf, Audi (new one this month - Audi Tuner) and VAG mags. but no Skoda Magazine

Or am I missing something ?

What like Escort or Fiesta? :p

Rapid might be a good name for a gentleman's mag

Oh but there is! I'm the Editor of one - Skoda Owners.

Skoda Owners is printed quarterly and distributed to members of the Skdoa Owners' Club GB. It is a 28 page colour magazine and as you rightly point out, it is the only Skoda magazine in the UK. It is packed full of information about upcoming models, technical help, owners car's and reviews of new models.

Skoda Owners isn't available to buy in the shop and is exclusively delivered to Club members.

If you'd like to know more, do let me know. :)

Tell us more thanks

I would like a copy!

Join the owners club then.

I'd imagine it isn't free to produce.

Indeed, we get one four times per year.

I think you are missing the part we play in the VAG scene.  We are small fry.

Look at the number of modded Skodas out there and comparitively there are not a huge amount.

And most of the younger generation can find out all they want on thier smartphones plus use FaceBook to be in groups and discuss stuff in an interactive way which is prefered to waiting for some paper to drop through the door occasionally.

I'm afraid joining the Owners' Club is the only way to get a copy. As grr666 points out, it isn't free to produce. Despite charging for membership the Club generally only has a small surplus with the majority of the money going on printing costs. But it is only £20 a year which I think still represents good value.

This is another good point. Try though I might, I can't keep up with Facebook, etc; particularly on a quarterly print run. As it goes that it takes a considerable amount of voluntarily time to put one issue together and we're just not in a positive to offer anything more frequently. What I have done therefore is try to offer something different to the internet so whilst you don't get instant updates, you do get to see the whole story and often (if at all possible) with some nice photos and words.

So yeah, producing a magazine is a time consuming and expensive hassle, but I think it is worth it; especially when you have something which is nice to read at the end of it.
