rns 510

About to install RNS 510 1t0035680F will this cause battery drain problems in my 2005 Skoda Octavia?

If so what is the fix is it a software upgrade I need to do?

cheers.

Ive heard of a software fix - never tried coz ive not had to but always recommend a canbus upgrade, very easy to do - plug and play and just needs coding in with VCDS

Near the middle of this page is the software fix:

HOWEVER, it is very much your own risk as there are no guarantees this will fix it, and there is a chance of bricking it. It is a newer Columbus and I have heard a number of cases where the fix doesnt work, particularly with newer units with newer firmware not designed for older cars like yours. These days newer Gateways are much cheaper and if you can find someone to code it, updating the gateway is a good alternative.

Wa it will.

The software fix may work.

The gateway should be behind the glovebox so easy access.

I'd change the gateway.
