Any pros or cons

Featured Replies

Hi there,is there any pros/cons to fitting a performance air filter to my car (05 octy 2.0 tdi 140 bhp dsg box) ?

Cheers kev.

Maybe better to fit one that is not a paper one that falls apart if it gets wet,

and one that is not going to strangle the engine.

Keep them fresh and clean.

Performance Filter, 10 year old diesel, not much going to be achieved in the way of extra performance and efficiency over fitting

a clean new filter.

Maybe avoid 'Long Life' Performance filter that need regular cleaning and treatment.  JMHO.

Erm yes and no

As above not really performance wise might make it a bit louder (fitted mine to my vrs and didn't really do anything)

Saving you money on replacement parts in the future yes it probs will save you money.

I like the fact I don't need to worry about replacing mine again just rinse it out once a while.

Thanks for replys kev.

Con: Insurance.

If you declare it, your premium will probably go up. If you don't declare it, you run the risk of issues further down the line.
