Bolero niggles - forgets settings and no VRS logo on start up

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just bought a second hand Octavia the I have noticed a few issues with the Bolero unit.

1. The first time I turned the car in the radio screen came up saying Octavia VRS, but this has never come up again. I kind of liked it so want it every time I get into the car. Any ideas?

2. The radio has the option for then screen to turn off after 10 secs which I turn on but then next time when I come into the car this doesn't work and I have to select it again.

Any idea how to fix these things?

Not sure there is a skoda vrs screen?!?

I think the non VRS models display the Skoda logo on the radio when you first get in and turn the ignition. The VRS has different image but mine has a blank screen then the normal radio screen just appears.

Is there a way to do an update to the software in the Bolero which might solve both issues?

I've got a "MKII" Columbus (RNS510), my logo doesn't always appear on startup either.

Also, if I use the manual "screen off", the screen also returns on startup.

......so this all could be "by design", especially the screen off bit.....dealers would get people forgetting they've got the screen on shutdown and complaining that it's broken. ;) ;)

My Bolero (in the Superb) starts up with the Skoda Logo plus "Welcome aboard" - it's never not displayed this.

Mine doesn't have the functionality to switch off the display - unless I am missing something.
