Random hazard lights flashing

Featured Replies

Hi all :hi:

Number 1 daughter has a problem with her Superb in that when its parked the hazard lights will flash randomly!!

I'm assuming it's an alarm problem as they will flash for 30 seconds ish and then stop.

When they do there is no siren and the LED on the door is still flashing at it's normal rate.

Searched the net and can't find any reference to this type of issue so open to suggestions.

She wasn't really bothered about it but it's taking it's toll on the battery if she leaves it for a day or 2 so i'm now getting grief to get it sorted.

Doesn't help that she's 7 month's pregnant!!

Sounds like it could be a failing battery in the alarm unit.

Would that cause it to trigger the lights only???

Nothing shows on VCDS.

The battery tends to leak inside the alarm siren and damages the internal components, the outward signs tend to be random alarm activations and a lack of sound from the siren. Seems common on older mk2 Octavias.

This is on a mk 1 03 plate.

Same problem on my Volvo with the leaking battery wrecking the unit but just causes a warning on the dash.

Any idea where the module is located???

Next to the battery.
