Moving the ASR, demist buttons etc.

Featured Replies

I'm looking to fit a double din head unit at some point, but I think it would sit a bit low down in the dash.

I notice the panel with the ASR, demist, fuel buttons on it is the same width as the slot. I was wondering if it was possible to move these to the bottom of the dash, above the heater controls, and shuffle the double din up, so it sits higher in the dash?

Nope, because this part of the dash is made to only fit these buttons and no modding in this way seems possible without some hard rebuild of this part of the dash...

I know this is a live ebay add, but I've searched google inside out for pictures and came up short, so if I've broken a rule I'll delete the link. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171439256153?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I have no association with this person and am just using it to show the picture.

If you look at the ad picture and zoom in, you will see why it will be quite a task to do what you want. Whilst nothing is impossible to do, you will need to be quite creative in the fabrication department to do this, and even then I'm not sure the cables would stretch that far down.

Nice idea though, keep us posted if you try it.

Heh, looking at that picture I definately *won't* be trying it! I'll just have to live with it being a bit lower down

how about getting a single din unit where the screen comes up? that will sit higher
