Goodbye Superb....... Hello Superb!

Featured Replies

Last Monday I collected my new Superb 140 SE Diesel estate, replacing a Superb 1.8TSI SE Petrol estate which I had owned for almost 4 years and covered 76K miles.   I wasn't originally planning on replacing the Superb quite so soon, but given the current Solutions finance offer and knowing that a new model was imminent (and being really happy with the Superb MK II) I took the plunge.

It has been interesting to make a few comparisons between the two models (pre and post facelift) - apart from the obvious difference of the new one being a diesel!  With the facelift I have gained Bluetooth, auto dimming rear view mirror and tyre pressure monitoring but have lost the aluminium tracks in the boot (which is no great loss).  Also, I find the seats in the new car are more comfortable - they are a bit softer than my last Superb so I feel I am sitting in the seat rather than on it!  With my previous car I added the auto wipers but this time round, the car was from existing stock so just have the variable intermittent feature.  It is a bit like stepping back in time as I've had auto wipers on every other car I have owned for the past 10 years!

The diesel is an amazing engine - almost as smooth and powerful as the petrol, yet with a range of about 700 miles, compared with 500 from the 1.8TSI petrol.  I'm looking forward to fewer visits to the petrol station!

I purchased the new car from Bristos in Ipswich and they made the whole experience enjoyable and hassle free.

I'm looking to forward to the next 3 years of Skoda motoring!

The auto wipers can be enabled by VCDS. There's a thread somewhere on here detailing it.
