Hi. New here, compulsory first post.

Currently toying with the idea of an Octavia for the daily commutewagon to replace my ageing A6 (can't stand the looks of the new A6, plus its too big).

Are you looking at a new shap Octavia or a used example of the previous shape?

The vRS gives plenty of Smiles per gallon, but lots of the folks on here have other models too, and are quite happy with them.

I'm looking at the new model (older model is nice but is too 'basic' compared with my A6), with lots of toys (I need that to tempt me from the A6 which has most things). I am perfectly happy to let someone else take a few k depreciation in return for putting the first 20-30 on the engine for me and getting it nicely run in. I'm in no rush to buy, might buy in a months time, might wait a year. I do like to do my research though :-)

As for an OCTY - have you looked at the older version in L & K trim - might be what you're looking for.
