These silly chips to upgrade horse power

Featured Replies

hi guys.

My new octavia I bought the other half seems much faster than the 105bhp. And as it's had little upgrades such as suspension and wheels, I'm wondering if the previous owner fitted the chip thing.

Problem is.. I don't want my other half having more power... 3 accidents in 5 years says enough.

My question is. Where would this be located under the bonnet? If it's fitted?

The ‘chip’ is in the ECU, they no longer change the chip its reprogrammed.

No probs gizmo. I've seen plug and play stuff on eBay in the past and thought that maybe what it was. Ah well if she kills it she kills it. Lol

The plug and play stuff nowadays is usually a tuning box.

If there IS something there, just be aware that it could nullify your insurance i you don't tell them. Ignorance of it doesn't sway them if you claim on it and they find out.
