My MDF got stuck on "Phone" today, wouldnt connect, wouldnt go back to data till i stopped the car, removed the key and then restarted

I always make sure mine is on MFD before I remove the key.. although I do not change it that much

I think the OP had a typo there. MFD (multi function display) button mounted on the steering wheel [or maybe you were adding a bit of humour there ]

That issue does sound like it could be possibly be a dodgy MFD button alright.
