Bulbs, boot liners and more

Featured Replies

Hello all,

As you may or may not be aware I have just purchased my first Skoda, a very lovely 62 plate VRS Estate, from another member as it goes.

Couple of questions if you have the time, I've had a look through the threads but thought I might get some answers with a bit more direct requests.

Can someone tell me what the headlight, dipped beam and fog light bulbs are please. For now at least I'm just going to get some uprated bulbs, not looking at HID as the car is still under warranty.

Boot liners, I have the non false floor version and want a boot liner cause of the dog. What do people think on the more plastic ones as a pose to the rubber ones, I had a plasticy one in my old car and there wasn't a lot of grip which I want for the dog, what are my options?

Bumper protection, I've seen the rear guard ones but not sure I want something that's there permanently, are there any other options like something that flaps out, again it's for the dog getting in and out.

Dog guards, anyone got one, which ones fit well etc, are they worth it?

Think that's it for now,

Thanks for your time,

Hazza

The information on bulbs is in the handbook and you can down load a pdf version from this forum.

Go to the first pinned thread above and click on the link in the first post. The 05 2012 manual is second in the list it jumps to. The pdf version is useful as, in the index at the back, clicking on the page number takes you directly to the page you want.

For the bumper protection, have a look at the fold out protector Volvo do for the V70/XC60. It's what I use, having originally had it for my V70, but it fits the Octavia (mine's an estate) as though it were made for it. I have a part number if you want it.

The plastic boot tray is a good bit of kit too but I don't have a dog so don't know whether one would slide about on it. Probably depends how hard you corner!

I must be missing something. Just looked at the PDF one and it's the same as the one I have and can't find a list of bulbs.

Yep, seems they forgot a page from the May 12 edition,

Attached is the page from the previous issue, which shows all the bulbs in the car.

Hi Hazza

I've got both a Travall Dog Guard and Rubber Boot Liner. Guard is great fit and rattle free and the mutt has no trouble staying upright on the liner. They're not the cheapest products out there by any means, but it looks like they do a discount if you buy the two together.

And congratulations on getting your first Skoda. You won't regret it.
