New Skoda Owner

Featured Replies

Hello All, after much research on here I have just purchased my first Skoda.I am of the age to remember the old skoda jokes "why has a skoda got a heated rear window.....to keep your hands warm while you are pushing it" etc etc. When we gave it a test drive we were all saying "WOW" it drives like the passat that we had as a hire car. We have had a few cars in the past all various styles, some of which I wish I had now as they would be worth thousands (Mk 2 Cortina, VW Camper, Ford Capri etc etc). The Skoda seems a very well built car, mpg is astonishing, it is 54 reg with 84,000 miles, full service history, cambelt changed twice, new clutch and flywheel. I have read through most of the topics concerning MK2 Octavias and there is a wealth of knowledge there which is why we picked the 1.9 pd. Hope to pick up more tips and share some that I have picked up over the years.

Hi, I know what you mean about wishing you still had some of your old cars. I am the same. But at the end of the day, whats gone is gone.
