  1. Looking at various websites the Westfalia towbars for the Octavia 3 all seem to have a 85kg max noseweight.
  2. The video the OP posted clearly shows the front wheels slipping and no engagement of the rears...
  3. The ones on that site are the DfE ones - Devonshire Green is in a car park and surrounded by restaurants and fast food places as well as being in a 'hollow'. The Barnsley Road one I know and is on a busy road and the main drag to the big Northern General Hospital. The others are next to the M1 and a Ringinglow outside the school where the buses wait. SCC also have their own set ups and diffusion tubes at various locations which is where the Station info comes from - No2 levels there are usually over 60microgrammes per M3, well over 2.5 times those anywhere else.
  4. Just following up on the point @J.R. has made - I agree - the fundamental issue is the differential is not fit for purpose if it is leaking, regardless of the hole, and clearly you still have a non-functioning 4x4 system. Personally, I wouldn't be happy with a second hand differential that has had a 'hole drilled i it' either. I'd therefore be pushing for another replacement differential and for them to fully sort the 4x4 system. They've already had one go at fixing it and have failed so I think it's now a case of rejecting the car or taking some legal advice on what to do next.
  5. Indeed - whenever I've been on a train journey or used the underground I always find I need a shower afterwards to get rid of the muck... blow your nose after a journey on the underground and you see just how many particulates there are down there!
  6. It is funny that isn't it and I've seen similar elsewhere - some might suggest that the pollution monitoring stations have been 'strategically placed' to ensure they have high readings that can be blamed on vehicular traffic, as opposed to on the real culprits...
  7. Indeed - the most polluted areas in Sheffield are the train station and now the area behind the Crucible Theatre now that they've closed it ne way to cars and diverted all the buses down it... As for particulates - EV's tend to generate much more from tyres than a similar ICE vehicle does so it all balances out...
  8. Oh dear - that's not good - all that upheaval / stress etc... that's the last thing you need! Presumably the message included the info that you'll not be able to continue to rent it off any new owner?
  9. Adopted highway under LHA jurisdiction with signage to TSRGD and TSM and the screen capture text was from the LA website with wording by the LA. 🙂
  10. I honestly don't know - if you don't have a 'parking clock' and came to Sheffield then I would assume (given the tenacity of the wardens here and the statement on SCC's website) that you'd get a ticket?? Albeit I'd guess you could also try and appeal it?? It does sound like a bit of a flaw in the system though - as is the variance of rules and lack of consistency across the country / four nations. I'm certainly aware of completely different rules in London for example where TfL say you can 'stop' on a single or double yellow but not park, whilst here in Sheffield you can park on them for up to three hours. It really is a minefield and makes me very wary at times. The only real solution is to check the location specifics every time.
  11. Interesting - so I have the right to use the loading bay but you maybe think I'm maybe not right to make use of that right? Either way I didn't take offence - I was just intrigued as to your post and point of view. I thought you might be inferring that I was incorrect and wasn't allowed to use the loading bay (I'm aware other Councils / areas operate different rules), which is why I followed up with the information from Sheffield Council. No worries anyhow. Cheers
  12. Fair point I guess. But he could see what I was doing and it is a specialist college for kids with various disabilities and staff were present and also annoyed at his attitude as the bay is there due to the college and it's students, many of whom use transport services. The bay is also a big one and what he was driving could probably have fitted in behind me if he'd tried as I was tight up against a parked car just outside the bay but instead he just ranted at me. Maybe I was a bit grumpy as I was running late as it was as she'd had a seizure this morning before we left but even so I was doing nothing wrong so he just wound me up. As for using the other bay... Yes I suppose I could have but given my daughter is limited in terms of how far she can walk and has regular drop seizures I try to get as close as I can... But in his defence he wouldn't know that... But he should know his highway code and what is and isn't allowed if his job is deliveries to loading bays. Anyhow it's been and gone now.
  13. Why the Mmm??? See below... the bay was a loading only bay with no additional or extended restrictions and i was only there 5 minutes to get my daughter out of the car and hand her over to her assistant for the day who was waiting.
  14. The delivery driver outside my daughter's college this morning. He was getting all irate waving his arms about and beeping his horn trying to get into the loading bay I was parked in. I explained to him that with a blue badge and when dropping off and collecting my daughter I could park there for three hours but he still just kept shouting that it was a loading bay. Not sure why he couldn't use the empty one 20 yards further up the road but there you go. I was that annoyed I even double checked I was right when I got to work (different places have different rules but I was correct)
  15. I think he means it's not a battery pack made of blade cells (new tech from BYD I believe) so literally a block shaped battery. I could be wrong though as half his posts make little sense due to all the spelling and typographical errors and lack of punctuation - so I understand your difficulties given you now effectively think in French.
