Remapping Insurance Trouble

Featured Replies

Hullo

I rang my "mod-friendly" dealer yesterday evening. Anyone remember me saying how mod-friendly More Th>n were because they didn't charge extra for my alloys and springs? Well, last night, they told me, in no uncertain terms, that they WOULD NOT insure my car if I touched the engine. No extra premium just they would not cover. They said it was a low-risk company and do not cover higher risks. :(

So, this leaves me in a bit of a sticky situation because I've promised I'd do the group remap, but I can't afford to pay megabucks to switch insurance company. I pay

Did a search for you, am I kind or what, an found numerous references to Liverpool and Victoria. Try a search of your own and you will find that you need to 'phone them rather than getting a quote on line.

Jason,

Its weird how they dont charge for the wheels and springs you've fitted, but then refuse engine mods.

I'll send you a PM.

Jason, there are plenty of insurers listed in our links (access via second thread above). I dealt with LiverpoolVictoria by phone since I wanted to make absolutely sure that mods would not be loaded by them and, despite some scepticism by members at the time, that proved to be the case. But I do seem to recall that they will not insure under 25s - which would be bad news for you if true. :(

 Denis - hoping Liverpool Vic do insure under 25s - Ironic as I need the remap done before Xmas, and I'm 25 in January.

I'll ring around a few of those people - greenlight looked quite good.

Adrian Flux insure my sons - age 21 with a 200SX; age 24 with a heavily modded BMW M3 lookalike.

Flux - gotta be careful how you pronounce that. :D - cheers again.
