contract hire / leese hire

Featured Replies

Any one in skoda land evea had a car on contract hire or leese hire at all? Or the firm your working for had a car on contract hire??
What's the advantage's and disadvantages of contract hire and leese hire?

Leasing a car means you have no choice but to hand it back at the end of the term, there is no option to buy. Therefore they are sometimes cheaper per month.

Favoured by fleet managers / company cars drivers who have no interest in the car after the term is finished.

A PCP (Personal Contract Plan) on the other hand gives you three choices, making them more flexible and therefore in most cases a little more expensive...

1) Hand the keys back, pay any excess mileage / damage and walk away.

2) Pay the pre-agreed final / balloon payment to buy the car and own it outright.

3) Use any equity remaining in the vehicle (the difference between the balloon payment and it's market value at the end of the deal) to put towards the deposit on another PCP on a new car.
