No idea.

No friendly APR Dealer prepared to see if they can Flash your ECU via the OBD,  for their own experience!

Could you not try on someones Bluespark or TMC.

'vrsforever' has both for his CTHE i think, and has used both.

Roadtrip  down to Blackpool / Preston if you fancy.

Just stick up a post for a Mk2 Get Together and you show me yours, and i will show you yours.

I think I will pay ecotune a wee visit! It's on 20mile up the road!

Best and safest and then you might find out just what the ECU & Map installed is.

It is no doubt a good one,

take care that you do not get a Stage 1 Flashed only to find that Volkswagen already did that for you.

As George says I have tried Bluespark & TMC - & I still can't decide which is best. Both seem to offer net gains but in different ways. The Bluespark seems to give more torque lower down in the rev range, whilst the TMC seems to give more power at higher revs. I still can't decide which is the best setting on the TMC (dial adjustment 0-9). In fact I can't really tell any difference between the various settings - maybe other TMC owners can voice an opinion?

It reminds of my brother-in-law who had a central heating thermostat on his lounge wall - wired up to nothing! His wife would often say "it's cold in here tonight" & turn the thermostat up. Then an hour or so later she would "that's much better now". So maybe it's all in the mind. Maybe we convince ourselves we are getting more power because that's what we want to believe.

Scotland's a long way up for me, but I'm often up in the Lakes between now & the end of October, so I'm quite prepared to meet up if anyone wants to try the Bluespark or TMC box.

It would be nice to get that lull between 4 and 5k smoothed out on the CTHE.

I noticed my reset gearbox is now short-shifting first to second which means out of the torque limiter sooner, not tested any actual impact in terms of numbers yet.

I think the bluespark is the safest option for tuning boxes as I read the tmc can make some cars run very lean at the top end of the rev range which seems pretty dangerous

For the price of the bluespark prob best buy it and try it as could prob buy one with the money I spend on fuel. I'll see how the remap works out then I may take u up on the meet!
