Mk1 fabia ice, been told I need these extras for a double din unit, is this right?

Featured Replies

So ive been looking for a suitable double dIn media centre for my mk1 fabia vrs that also does sat nav, and I narrowed it down to:

Clarion NX302E £354 ( preferred choice on cost )

Or

Kenwood DNN6250AB £564 ( preferred choice on functionality )

Ive posed the questions to the supplier on what else I need to plug and play this unit.

They have stated I will need:

A double din facia surround £36.49:

An aerial adaptor £9.49:

Glass mount DAB aerial £40:

Do I really need all of that? The facia surround seems expensive for a plastic surround? I assume if im using bluetooth and general fm I dont need the 40 pound dab aerial?

Proper trim piece from Skoda for double DIN is about £8

Proper trim piece from Skoda for double DIN is about £8

Presumably that means the facia surround thats in the first link isnt required then? I can use the left and right plastics pre fitted then the skoda upper section

That is correct
