Fixing a Columbus unit in a MY13 Octavia

The garage is now making a third attempt to replace the columbus unit in my Octavia as I had a broken SD card reader.

 

All instructions they have tried thus far to link the unit into the car have as of now failed and they are now having to refer the problem back to Skoda in Germany.

 

Has anyone else installed a Columbus Unit and successfully sync'd it to their vehicle
