I do not have photoshop but I would like to change the splash screen on my Kenwood DNX521DAB head unit.

 

The image needs to be scaled to 800 x 480 pixels and saved in the 16 bit r5g6b5 .bmp format (whatever that is).

 

I would like a carbon fibre effect background with the new skoda badge in the middle.

 

Every time I try with the windows installed applications the image looks terrible and I would not have it in my car.
