Acc wire for a tv tuner in rns 510

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I am installing a 3rd part tv tuner to the rns 510

i have run a power cable from battery with a inline 5amp fuse to the tv tuner in the boot. Just wanted to know as there is no acc (ignition wire) behind the rns as it is run by can, can i connect the acc wire from the tv tuner to the cigarette lighter 12v power wire as this works off the key and connect the 12v power to battery?

Would this switch on/off when key is removed?

Best to take a switch live from the fuse box with a piggy back fuse holder.

Ok as the fuse box is a bit compact and hard to get wiring done in there can't i just use 12v fused cable direct from battery and use the power from the cigarette lighter to connect to acc yellow cable on the tv tuner?

Yes you can if the 12v socket ism definitely switched. Noit sure about the Superb but the Octavia has a permanent live on the 12v socket.

Yes it's definitely switched because i normaly have a usb charger plugged in with a led light to indicate on. When the key is out the led light on the charger goes off and stops charging

So basicaly i got a 12v + with 5amp inline fuse direct from battery to the power on the tv tuner and power from the cigarette lighter connects to the acc wire on tv tuner and that should work with switching on/off when key is removed?
