DAB Aerial wire through dash route

Featured Replies

I've fitted one on my previous Seat but I need to know how hard (or easy) it is to get the dab aerial to the front left pillar for fixing.

Can anybody please advise the route.

I have a 2010 Octavia.

Thanks

Behind glovebox and up the A-pillar.

A-pillar pulls off. Glovebox unscrews.

You'll probably want to remove the plastic part of the FAKRA connector on the cable to make it easier to get past the metal 'frame' behind the glovebox.

Thank you very much. Glove box removal easy enough then, nothing to watch for?

Not really. The screws (5 IIRC) are fairly obvious (not hidden like on the Yeti) and the box goes in/out quite easily.

Just be careful around the airbags in the A-pillar (if you have them) and secure the new cable to existing ones.

How about the route for a BT mic going the other way or is there somewhere better to mount one please?

BT mic goes down the right hand A-pillar.

You can go that way but it's harder to route the cable behind the steering column than it is behind the glovebox (with it removed).

So are you saying Its easier going through the glovebox and then over to the right A pillar? Sorry I don't quite understand

Remove the glovebox.

Remove the LEFT A-pillar trim.

Remove the stereo.

Remove the plastic casing from the FAKRA connector on the cable.

Run the cable avoiding the LEFT A-pillar airbags.

Refit everything.

This is the easiest side to fit it on.

Trust me, I've run cables from both sides.
