New Octavia vRS diesel ?

Featured Replies

Hi.

Although I've been a long(ish) term fan of Skoda - well at least since the Octavia 4x4 came out, I've never quite succumbed since I want a 130 bhp or more diesel 4x4 or vRS. Although the 4x4 has been available in RHD as a 105 for some time, does anyone know timescales for the 140bhp or vRS with presumably 150+ bhp?

(Have yet to stumble across the search facility).

Oh yes, once had a great trip to Prague and Molycoddle Bollywoddle (or similar) courtesy of Skoda for launch of Superb.

Cheers

Welcome

I think you mean "Mlada Boleslav" although the Superb is not made there as you are probably made aware

No news about Deisels from me.

The vRS diesel OctyII will be 170bhp but in a recent test between the new 140 and 170 bhp VW Jetta, 140 came out on top. The 170 was found to be a bit of a dog to drive as it had an even more peaky torque curve than the 140 and the reviewers said the difference in performance felt negligible. I imagine the OctyII will be the same. I'd imagine it will be summer 2006 at least before this model is officially announced to allow the petrol vRS to get established.

Better to go for the 140 and then get a remap if there isn't enough power although the mid range grunt of the 140 diesel in standard guise is easily just as good as any 180bhp petrol car i've driven.

GRUNT that's the word :)

The one thing that impressed me most on my Octavia 2.0 TDi PD test drive was the grunt. :)

Really useful when towing a bike on a trailer. Hoping the lack of 4WD won't be too much of an issue. Some paddocks get *very* muddy.

Thanks for the welcome. Sounds like a 140 4x4 with a remap or Tunit then. Sounds like a perfect allround (like my old allroad) car and will hopefully feel as fast or faster than the old 150bhp 4x4 whilst not attracting any unwelcome attention when parked.

Welcome f rom me too. :D

doubt there would be an Octy vRS diesel.

AH ! the only reason the Jetta 170 didnt feel as good as the octy104, is really coz its a HEAVY VW.:):)
