over heating

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone help I think that my head gasket has gone on my mk2 skoda octavia,

The heaters are blowing cold all the time and the temp is fine until you go on a motorway then It goes up

Do anyone know a rough idea of what it's going to cost to have done

Thanks

Considerably more than a coolant gas analysis to confirm that it is HGF rather than a water leak.

Could this not simply be a sticky thermostat?

There have been a number of complaints about the thermostats on older cars...

How would I go about testing if it is just a sticky thermostat

Pull the thermostat out of the car, pop it in a pan then pop said pan on the cooker and turn it on. Pop a thermomertor in as well. The thermostat should open about 80 dergree.
