Any CR owners using Additives?

Featured Replies

Hey all

I know this topic has come up a gazillion times but I only seem to be finding suggestions/answers where the PD is concerned. Are there any CR owners who can tell me if they use additives when filling up?

I hear Millers Eco Max is really good but unsure if I'd actually benefit from using it. Currently, I fill up with Tesco standard (like the points and I'm a bit of a tight ****) and have been for some time.

I am considering going over to Shell V Power after using it once in the past (that's another topic I know) to see if that alone improves performance and it wasn't just a placebo thing going on.

Thing is, VAG don't advise using them at all. Is this the case with the CR and do you think I should use an additive and also swap over to Shell V Power?

Would really appreciate being educated on this subject.

Many thanks

I have used Millers in the past and it's good stuff. Engine runs much smoother due to the higher cetane. The added detergents keep it all clean too. It is basically doing the same as a premium fuel. I can't see any problem with using it other than the smell which makes me feel sick.

V power made no difference in my vrs. Was expecting better economy from it, but was the same as usual.

I heard that shell diesel is better for the car than supermarket diesel because of the lack of additives.

I have recently just bought my Octy Mk2 TDI but I run it on V-Power Diesel and Millers additive as well.

Had a few VAG remapped diesels in the past and ran them on the same, albeit they were PD lumps.
