I've got a pre fl vrs tdi running fk coilovers set low & the ride isn't that bad at all.

I'm the same FK AK street coilovers, yes don't get me wrong it isnt standard feel but it isn't as bad as some people make out, it's a lot stiffer and feel a lot more bumps but I drive extra careful anyway it's a small price to pay for a low ride.

about 400 / 500

about 400 / 500

for that money, if you dont want "stupid" low :) and you want to do some track days then i'd say go with a bilstein b12 kit.  its bilstein dampers and eibach springs and a fixed drop rather than coils but the dampers are excellent quality and a monotube design, much better than you'll get on a cheap set of coilovers =  much better for track work.

i ran some weitecs (same spec as AP coilovers) on the previous car.  They rode fine for road use and you could run pretty low but they would not have been any good on a track.

Is the ap a good kit? I ran ta technix on an old car that were cheap and horrible, weld ended up snapping on the strut and it bent my drive shaft so I've been put off cheaper coilovers but really don't think springs will give me my desired drop.

The AP kit is more towards the mid range as opposed to a entry level option so definitely a good choice for the money.
