CD player recommendations - Superb

Featured Replies

I love my Superb but I hate its audio system. I've got a 54 reg Superb Elegance with indash cassette and CD changer in the boot. I would love to change out the CD player. Does anyone have any recommendations for a new player that will work with the 1) changer in the boot AND 2) the steering wheel mounted controls? Maybe even a unit with built in sat nav?

Thanks,

Patrick

skoda DX (see my sig for pic of it) it fits in fabia/octavia1/superb

Got mine from www.satnavsystems.com

But according to many posts here the sound quality is worse than the standard unit - and you are still left with the CD changer.

he wants the CD changer, needs a radio that works with steering wheel controls and possibly sat-nav!

I can confirm (in the fabia) that this H/U is a vast improvemnt in sound quality over standard

I need to know more about that Sat Nav system. Skoda DX did you say? Does this work with the steering wheel controls and do you still have maxidot? I have a Superb with the symphony system. I hated it in my Octy 1 but it doesn't sound too bad in my Superb. Is the DX sound quality as good as the symphony? Can you get a TV tuner for it?

Cheers in advance.

Err that depends. It may depend on which sat nav system you get. With one you may need to get the TMC unit as well before it will operate the steering controls. There was a very long thread on this topic a few weeks ago - think it was either in this forum or the one for the Superb. Suggest you have a look for it.

In fact just found it here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/t40099-does-superb-sat-nav-support-tmcitis.html
