Octavia VRS - problems with gearbox and gas pedal

Featured Replies

Hello,

I hope someone here will help me or at least steer me in the right direction since my local dealership/service wasn't very helpful.

Anyway, I have two problems with my Octavia Mk3 VRS, it's a 2.0TSI with a manual gearbox. And while we are on the topic of gearbox  - that is my first problem, I regularly have the problem to change to 2nd gear. Most of the gear are butter smooth and change in an instant, very quietly as well, like it should be. But the 2nd is just trouble. I need to push much stronger in order to engage it and it makes some metal-on-metal sound when I put it in. Sometimes it even feels like it kinda moves in two stages - like click click. It sometimes gets better when the car warms up, around 20+ minutes of driving. Although, rarely, it get get even worse so I can't easily engage 1st or reverse. Any ideas? Suggestions?

Second problem I have is with the gas pedal. Around 2500-3000rpm it starts resonating and vibrating. It is a very strange sensation, I can compare it to a cell phone vibrating. It disappears when I go higher in the revs but the problem is very annoying and I would say dangerous. When I drive for long ranges on highway that is kinda the sweet-spot for cruising speed and that vibrations just numb my foot after some time. I don't know if it anyhow related but something also resonates in the cabin around 2000rpm but that just creates a buzzing sound that I also can't locate.

Thank you all in advance, any help is more then appreciated.

Cheers,

Nikola
