Octavia mk3 VRS - Removing the rear bumper?

Featured Replies

Yesterday someone bumped my rear bumper and although there is no visible damage, one of the parking sensors got detached and fell into the bumper. Is there an easy way to self-fix this? I would rather avoid the hassle of going to the official service.

Thank you.

Rear bumper removal is relatively easy. Going from memory - there are fixing screws visible underneath the bumper at the rear, there are two others hidden under the rear light cluster (you have to remove the cluster to get at them and there are three(?) each side at the rear of the wheel-arch, - you have to remove the inner arch-liner to expose the top-most one which is a clamp-type thingy and a bit fiddly to undo/do up again. Bumper slides off rear-wards and down-wards. To do that an extra pair of hands is a big help, obviously a blanket to avoid the bumper contacting the ground is essential.
