I've got my first Skoda and when I first got it I looked to check I had the most up-to-date maps for the the head unit, I did and I noticed it said that they were due to be updated in May. 

 

Just had a quick look and it now says due for an update in June.

 

Are they normally pretty good with updates or is it a bit hit-and-miss for the maps?

The newer units are apparently free and easy to update. The previous Amundsens are stupidly expensive.

That is where I found the information telling me that it was due for an update in May, and were that information changed to June.

 

My question is is this normal, is stuff often delayed or are they normally pretty good with map updates. 

I have just checked the update portal for my Columbus and the date of next update has suddenly changed from May to November. However, it still shows ECE 2016 as the current version, so that has not updated. I am keen to get the latest version as my 3 years runs out on June 12th.

It looks like there has just been an update - mine came with ECE 2016 but it's now changed to ECE 1 2016/2017. 

Also shows the next update now being in November, so might be worth checking the working of the current download for yours? 

No, it's still showing ECE 2016 and the download maps button points to these maps and not the new ones.
