Reversing camera problem with Eonon D5153ZS on Yeti

Featured Replies

Hi all I am new to Skoda and the forum so be gentle with me please.

I just bought a Yeti Elegance 2013, originally it was an ex-demo with all the bells and whistles, including front and rear parking sensors and also park assist. I fitted the above radio and reversing camera, I am sure I got the wiring ok.

the problem is, with the ignition on and put into reverse the camera works fine, however with the engine running you get a visual of the car with front and back sensors but no camera picture.

Has anyone had this problem and can anyone help. regards John

Yo!

Welcome to Briskoda :)

I had a similar problem with my Octavia. The problem arises because the diagnostic system kicks in and pulses the power. My solution was to have the camera power from a normally open relay powered from a switched-live, and triggered by a feed from the reverse light. Worked a treat. :)

It's a bit of faff with the wiring, but worth it in the end.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks I will try taking power from the 12v supply (cigaret lighter style) in the boot but what do I use as a trigger the orange wire on the video feed? Assume one end from the reversing light but what about the stereo end, which colour wire do I conect it too.

regards John

The video feed runs straight to the headunit (as I assume it does now as you're getting a picture), all you're switching is the power, from a "dirty" CANBus controlled one, to clean direct one.
