Radio Interference - fuse piggy back

Featured Replies

Hi, I am reasonable new to posting here, so I have my fingers crossed for advice.

I recently did some trawling and took advice for installing my DashCam - I bought a fuse piggy back and it did the job. The only thing is, no matter what fuse slot I use, I find that local radio station signal is poor, national radio is better, but both drop out randomly. Using the CD player is fine, it just affects the radio.

Remove the piggy back and no problems.....

Why is this happening ? - what advice can you give me...

Thank in advance...

Do you get the same interference if you plug directly into the "cigarette " socket, or just using the piggy back setup?

What does the fuse connect to? Is it a cigarette adapter or to a 12v-5v buck?

I doubt its the piggy back, sounds more like the wiring setup

Wonky - just via the piggy back

Nathanio - it's a cig lighter with a 1.0 and 2.0 USB port

I think it's most likely due to the cable/socket you are using.

Are you using the power cable supplied with the camera or a third party cable?

I am using the cigerette lighter power lead supplied with the camera.
