Bolero MIB2 USB socket burned...

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have Bolero MIB2 system in my 2016 Octavia. While plugged into USB socket, tip of the lightning :) cable accidentally made contact with the 12V socket. Both stopped working. 12V socket works fine after changing its fuse but USB socket seems dead. Bolero does not recognize anything and there is no electricity whatsoever. All other stuff works fine without damage.

Is there a fuse somewhere in socket, head unit etc.? I am afraid there is serious damage somewhere. I will ask for warranty repair anyway but it would be good if repair will just be changing fuse or socket.

Sorry to tell you, but that does not sound good to me.

I think you may have caused destructive latchup in that part of the chip that controls the USB socket. Even if you could replace that chip, you would have to find someone will to open up the unit, diagnose the fault and carry out the repair. But I could be wrong ...
