Master Cylinder push rod adjustable?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if the master cylinder push rod is adjustable? if so is it in any way possible to adjust without disconnecting the two fluid pipes?

Having all issue that it goes too far and doesn't seem to return enough causing the front left and back rear to lock.

If the 2 bolts holding in the cylinder are loosened this allows the rod to return, it only to locks two of the wheels which I would have thought this would effect all four.

Before VAG COM diagnostic test I was sure it was an ABS issue but luckily is not.

Sounds like a faulty servo to me. No adjustment on the pedal, servo or master cylinder.

thanks

Would you know what actually fails in the servo for this to happen?

The master cylinder was allowing the pedal to sink and so a brand new one was purchased but there was a fault with the new one (the mechanic could not get the threads to line up) ; I was under a deadline to pass a test (and passed) and the motor factor could not get another one that day, so I got one in a breakers yard - original part.

Is there a possibility that the fault is in the master cylinder or do you reckon the servo is defo at fault?

With the servo disconnected the issue still occurs - its been a while since this was checked so will do again to be sure.

The problem I'm have is the car is a 2007 but it is the old shape and if I go to many of the part websites they list the incorrect master cylinder; from their pictures of the product the fluid pipes enter the cylinder from the side as opposed to from below.

I'm guessing that there is a slightly different length with alternating years
