Wing mirror not dipping

Featured Replies

Hi All,

So - my superb seems to have stopped doing it's party trick of dipping the left wing mirror on reverse parking... it is enabled in the settings, and I have the mirror switch on L. Any ideas?

Sorry to be flooding the forum with all my questions; but it's an excellent resource!

Many thanks,

G.

It's linked to the seat memory positions and (I think)the key that is being used.

Do you have your owners manual? If you do, look up "Memory function of the electrically adjustable seat". That has instructions for setting and storing the tilt angle of the passenger side mirror when reverse is engaged.

If you don't have the owners manual - you need access to one. Tell us the model year of your car and we can point you to an online PDF version.

It will be something like this extract from my one:

Saving front passenger mirror settings when reversing
The lowering function for the mirror on the passenger side when reversing must be enabled

› Switch on the ignition.
› Press the required seat memory button
› Turn the knob for the external mirror control to the position for the passenger
side mirror adjustment
› Engage reverse gear.
› Adjust the front passenger's mirror to the desired position
› Disengage reverse gear.

The set position of the exterior mirror is stored.

Thanks @TheRobinK. My car is a 62 plate.

I have had a bit of a go at this... it didn't work - but I think I am pressing buttons in the wrong order... I will consult my manual!

Many thanks,

It took me a couple of tries before I got it. The translated English in the manuals can be a bit "iffy" in places...

Here is a link to a PDF version of the manual for a 2011/2012  (I think that's what a 62 plate is?).  The downloaded version is useful as you can search it in seconds and navigate by clicking the page numbers and references.
